Simply put, holy visions are visions of God or of
His messengers. Many documented accounts of holy visions
exist, the most famous which is, of course, the Book of Revelation.
But visions of God aren't rare jewels meant only for a select few.
This site is for anyone who wishes to see the Lord our God and
for anyone who has already seen him and wishes to share that experience.
What is NOT a holy vision?
A holy vision is NEVER drug induced.
Those who wish to see God must have a pure mind and a pure body--and
drug-use runs contrary to both. Also, a holy
vision is NOT a halucination brought on by mental illness. If
you've had visions of a suspect nature--i.e. ones in which
"God" is telling you to harm yourself or others--you should seek
professional help. On this site, we are concerned only with legitimate
visions of the Lord our God.
I've had a holy vision. How can
this site help me?
Visions of God can be difficult
to understand. This site's forum is a place where fellow visionaries
can discuss what they have seen and suggest interpretations.
Moreover, a vision is never to be hoarded. What if John had
kept his vision to himself? What if he had never written Revelation?
Visions are gifts. But they are not gifts meant for a rare few;
they are meant for the betterment of humankind. They are God's
way of guiding us. This site provides a place to share this guidance
among others.
How can I have a holy vision?
First of all, ANYONE can have a holy
vision. You need not be a priest, and you need not sequester
yourself in a monestary for decades. God is all-powerful and
capable of appearing to anyone, believers and nonbelievers alike.
With that said, not everyone will have visions of God. Anyone,
but not everyone.
Having a vision comes in two stages.
First, purification; then, seeking. Before you go looking for
God, you must make certain that you are worthy. Your heart must
be free of sin and malice. This is easier said than done. You
must look deep within your own conscience with a brutally honest
eye. Is there someone whose forgiveness you have yet to ask?
Do you sin on a regular basis and convince yourself it is okay
or insignificant in God's eyes? Repent. Ask forgiveness. Beg for
forgiveness. Learn to hate your sins. Learn to love goodness.
Only then will you be pleasing in God's eyes.
The second phase is called the seeking
stage. While the first stage is a purification of the heart,
this second stage is a purification of the body and of the soul.
There are two key components: prayer and fasting. You must devote
all your time to prayer. ALL your time. Not just an hour every
night. Take a few days off of work or school, and find a place
far from people, where you will not be interrupted. For the duration
of your retreat, focus only on Bible study and on communication
with the Almighty.
Fasting is an age-old way to purify
the body, and it can be of tremendous help when seeking a holy
vision. But be cautious.
NOTE: You should fast only if you
are in good health. Speaking with your doctor before seeking
a holy vision is not only a good idea, but it can save your
life. Even if you are in good health, you should fast no longer
than three days. And when you do fast, be sure to drink plenty
of water.
